A Guide To Quitting Smoking

burning-cigarette-smoke.jpg (750×500)

There are many methods to quit smoking tobacco, and they all have varying levels of success, and the reason for any difficulty in stopping the inhalation of tobacco smoke is the levels of the highly addictive substance called nicotine. Initially, a young cigarette smoker might feel nauseous the first few times they inhaled the smoke, yet after a while, there is feeling of euphoria, and if the process continues on a daily basis for a few months, the body will become accustomed to regular doses of nicotine.

Vaping

The invention of the e cigarette announced an innovative new way to ingest nicotine, which on its own, is not harmful, without smoking tobacco products. The vaping process involves a small electrically powered vaping device, which heats up a special liquid, and this is turned into vapour, which is inhaled. There are many flavours to choose from, and you can have nicotine free e liquid, as many vapers have never inhaled tobacco smoke, yet love the taste of vaping.

Control your Intake

Once you know how many cigarettes you typically smoke in a day, you can then calculate how much nicotine to ingest, and source a reliable supplier. Online solutions offer convenience and variety, and if you are looking for e cigarettes in Brisbane, or any other city, a simple online search will put you in touch with the right supplier. If you decide you wish to gradually reduce your nicotine intake, this is easily achieved with vaping, and with so many new flavours coming out daily, you will never get tired of new tastes.

Zero Withdrawal

Typically, a tobacco smoker would be terrified of just quitting, as cold turkey can be traumatic at the best of times, but if you switch to vaping, you are still receiving your nicotine dose, therefore withdrawal does not occur. The vaping device is deliberately shaped to resemble a cigarette, and the only real difference between vaping and smoking is you are no longer inhaling harmful toxins when vaping.

Great Flavours

The development of e liquid is ongoing, and this means an endless list of unique flavours to sample. Most people finally settle on a few firm favourites, and it is good to try a new flavour once in a while. Vaping holds a high level of interest because there are always new tastes to explore, and with a range of accessories, the experienced vaper has plenty of new experiences awaiting.

Socially Acceptable

Vaping, unlike cigarette smoking, is generally accepted in many public areas, and the actual process of using makes it very easy to vape anywhere. There is no stigma attached to the inhalation of a vapour, as it does not harm people nearby, and with such great flavours, there are no bad smell issues.

Many people have managed to quit smoking tobacco thanks to vaping, and the obvious health benefits, along with the savings, make vaping an excellent way to stop smoking, once and for all.

Will U.S. Vets With Ptsd Get Access To Cannabis Vaporizer Treatment?

Roughly 20 percent of the thousands of men and women who have served in the U.S. military during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are coming home with post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD. Triggered by the stress of combat, PTSD is a serious mental health condition that makes sufferers prone to depression, suicidal thoughts and actions, and aggression.

As new conflicts break out abroad, it’s clear that the need for U.S. soldiers to be put in harm’s way will continue. That means that the United States will need to be prepared to offer effective treatments for veterans suffering from the effects of PTSD. Some doctors and public health experts are pushing to make legal marijuana vaporizer use one of those possible treatments. If they succeed, it could open new doors for veterans to finally get relief from their symptoms.

Cannabis and PTSD: Proven to Work, Yet Inaccessible to Vets

In areas where medical marijuana has been legal for use for years, many civilians have received prescriptions that allow them to vape cannabis in a dry herb vape pen, wax pen, or desktop vaporizer for the treatment of PTSD. Strong anecdotal evidence suggests that marijuana is effective at easing many symptoms of PTSD, and there have even been some small scientific studies that have validated the benefits of medical marijuana for the condition.

Steam-Inhalation

Still, doctors who work for the U.S. Veterans Administration (VA) don’t have the option of prescribing a cannabis vaporizer, or any other form of medical marijuana to patients, even in states where it’s legal for civilians. This is due to the fact that marijuana is still banned at the federal level.

The Use of Vaporizers Abroad

In Canada, medical marijuana is legal at the federal level, and soldiers with PTSD regularly receive prescriptions to use medical marijuana with vaporizers. The use of e cig and portable vaporizer models amongst Canadian soldiers is so great in some areas that dispensaries are being opened near military bases. Proponents of legalizing medical marijuana for vets in the U.S. point to Canada as an example of the benefits of using the drug to manage PTSD.

A Push for Change

More and more Americans are joining the cause of veterans with PTSD, and are appealing to lawmakers and the VA to make changes to their policies. In response, the VA has issued a formal statement to explain that the policy cannot be changed at this time due to the lack of large, peer-reviewed studies into the benefits of using medical marijuana for the treatment of PTSD. After the statement was issued, federal lawmakers managed to pass legislation to allow for a study on the subject. Set to commence within the next few months, this study will include about 75 vets, and will be the largest of its kind ever conducted.

Vets may not have to wait until the findings of the study can be published, peer reviewed, and analyzed by the VA. This is because U.S. Congressmen from Oregon and California have already introduced a piece of legislation, called the Veterans Equal Access Act, which would permit vets, who live in states where medical marijuana is legal, to receive prescriptions for cannabis from VA doctors. Advocates for the legalization of marijuana for veterans’ use urge those who support the law to let their Congressmen and Senators know.

Another key thing about strengthening the neck muscles and ligaments is to prevent injuries. Neck pain is a leading problem next to back pain so helping build this area up is key to preventing certain injuries. Building up the neck area is key to improving posture. Being pain free is another benefit to having a strong neck.

With all these benefits of having a strong neck it is really worth doing the right exercises to make this happen. If you are having any problems with neck pain be sure to talk to your Physiotherapist in Cambridge and they can help you. Pain relieving drugs can work but only offer temporary solutions whereas exercise has been known to cure or lessen the symptoms.

When you exercise the right neck muscles it strengthens them relieving pressure on the joints and spinal discs. Studies have shown that people using strength training along with other workouts have the biggest success in limiting neck pain.

Physiotherapists recommend certain exercises along with using some light dumbbells weighing up to eight pounds. The use of heavier dumbbells are fine as you work you way up. Some of these exercises are listed below. Before you start working out with weights keep in mind it may take some time to get use to it. Check with Physiotherapy in Cambridge before you start this type of exercise program. Be careful when doing these exercises that you don’t strain your neck.

One great exercise for the neck area is called the Neck Flexion because you are flexing the muscle by bringing your head and neck up to your chin all the way up to your chest. Once you have touched your chest move your head back down to the floor and rest for about ten seconds. Take your time and get use to this flexing motion as not to injure yourself. By doing things nice and slow when you start out can prevent any injuries.

Start with doing three sets of ten repetitions in a day. Make sure to rest a couple of minutes between sets. Making sure to take time between days to do the sets will give your neck muscles time to heal preventing any injuries.

The dumbbell shrug is another exercise that is good for the neck region and is great for the trapezius muscle. This muscle extends down from the neck down the back and helps to support the arms. When performing this exercise hold your dumbbells at your sides in equal position. Bend your knees slightly. Move your shoulders up in a shrugging motion upwards. Try doing ten repetitions of three sets making sure to rest between sets.

The Lateral Rise is another great exercise for the neck area. Start with arms on the sides holding your dumbbells. Start and raise the dumbbells up to shoulder level then lower them back down. Start with three sets of ten repetitions making sure to rest between sets.

One last exercise to try looks hard but is not. It is performed by Yoga instructors and looks pretty cool. The Headstand is done with you standing on your head on a pillow and leaning next to a wall. Resting in this position you are working the neck muscles. You have to thrust your body up to get to the position. These are some great exercises to keep you from getting neck pain and if you have any problems contact Physio-Cambridge.co.uk

Introduction To Noopept – A Potent Nootropic

The term nootropic is not new today. Millions of people are taking nootropics on a regular basis to improve their mental abilities and to boost their memory. But still if you are new to the term and do not know about nootropics, I am going to explain them as well so you may everything you need to know even if you are a beginner.

Untitled1

As where the cognitive abilities are concerned, understanding, comprehension, reasoning, decision making, production of language, evaluation, perception, attention, etc. all comes under the category of cognitive abilities and are clearly brain functions.

Introduction to Nootropics:

As I have described already about the nootropic and what factors they directly affect, let me just introduce you with some of the most popular nootropics. Actually, the major nootropics are the derivatives of Racetams so don’t get confused. The first and the most basic nootropic is the Piracetam which is a derivative of Racetam and known for enhancing memory, promoting focus, increasing mental power and boosting cognitive abilities.

The next one comes the Oxiracetam which is another derivative of the Racetam and works similar to the Piracetam but still it have some of its unique abilities as well. It improves the short term and long term memory to a great extent and removes the brain fog as well.

Another good nootropic is caffeine used in the combination of L-Theanine to remove the side effects of caffeine while keeping the positive effects on its maximum. Caffeine plus theanine promotes alertness, provides energy, improves focus, boosts cognitive abilities, reduce anxiety, and treats insomnia as well.

Introduction to Noopept – A Potent Nootropic:

There are constant stories about the latest anti-aging secret or a celebrity craze sweeping the globe, and whilst the majority of these are just fads, there are changes that you can make to your lifestyle to slow and even prevent aging from taking its toll on your appearance.

As a leading provider of anti-aging treatments in London, we certainly know a thing or two about stopping aging in its tracks. Here we share our top tips for changing your life and improving your appearance in one fell swoop.

Improve your diet

Eating a more balanced diet has been proven to have life changing and life span enhancing effects, but what can getting your five a day do for your skin? Eating vegetables can prevent aging at a cellular level, especially if you opt for produce with high antioxidant levels. Cutting out sugar can also have great outcomes for your skin.

Refine your beauty regime

Whilst good old soap and water was all your Grandma needed, skin care regimes have become much more refined in the modern day. There are a variety of anti-aging products on the market but by adding one, simple step to your existing regime you can start your own anti-aging ritual. Keeping the skin hydrated with an enriched, good quality moisturiser is a must.

Get a good night’s kip

With a tweak to your lifestyle, you can continue your anti-aging regime in your sleep – literally! Getting the recommended eight hours of sleep per night can give your skin the rest it needs so you can wake up looking and feeling great!

Try non-surgical treatments

There are a variety of non-surgical cosmetic procedures that are designed to promote anti-aging, and each one is becoming more and more affordable and accessible. Botox and dermal fillers are just two options that ensure visible, long lasting results.

Tips For Your First Laser Hair Removal Session

So, you have decided it is time to have all of your excess body hair removed? You are ready to go in for your first session, but then you realize, you don’t know how to prepare for the big day. What are you going to do in your first session? What do you require in order to be a good client instead of one that is frustrating for the technician? Here is a look at four tips to ensure you don’t end up being a horrible client.

Laserhair2

No Tanning Creams

You should not be using tanning creams before the appointment. It is best to keep the skin as ‘natural’ as possible because this is going to give the technician more access to your hair.

The desired expectation as you enter the session is for your skin to be as light as it can be. This is going to ensure the technician is able to get better results in the first session. You will be coming back for more sessions and the expectations are going to be the same each time.

Shave Hair

You are going to be told this before your appointment as longer hair can lead to painful results. If you have longer hair, it is going to hurt when you have the laser hair removal process completed.

It is similar to waxing and therefore having the area shaved is ideal. It should be done at least a day before in order for the area to heal as shaving will not always be as smooth as you would like it to be.

The goal is to get all of the areas that are going to be treated in the session shaved.

No Waxing

You should not be waxing the area before the session. In fact, you should avoid waxing and/or plucking any part of the skin that is going to be treated for at least 2-4 weeks before the appointment.

What is the purpose of this? The hair is going to be harder to target when this is done as the root is going to be pulled out. Laser hair removal is all about targeting the root and getting the laser to hit it, but that is harder, if you have already ripped the root out. It could reduce the efficiency of your session.

Keep Skin Clean

This is imperative once again to ensure the technician is getting a clean surface to work with. You don’t want the skin to smell bad as that is going to not lead to a pleasant experience for the technician.

Plus, if the skin is not clean, it is going to become harder for them to target the hair as desired. This is especially the case when you have lathered on cream.

Use these tips to ensure your first session is a major success. It is not as difficult as you may think.

Are you guilty of these body-wrecking sins?

If you believe in looking after your body, you probably work out and try to eat well, and generally take good care of yourself.

All of those things are important but you could be surprised to discover how you could be wrecking yourself without even realising it.

There are a few bad habits or beliefs that many people hold which can have devastating effects, either ruining your overall fitness or stopping you reaching your full potential.

Are you guilty of any of these?

No pain, no gain

Exercise can feel like hard work on some days, whilst on others you might feel much better equipped to complete your programme.

That’s a normal variation, but when it comes to actual pain, it’s a very different matter.

There was a brief fad where experts believed “no pain, no gain” but this is long been proven to not be the case. Unfortunately this mentality still prevails in many individuals who work out.

Just to emphasise, actual pain is a sign that something is wrong. There are no exceptions to this. Don’t be tempted to simply ignore it and push on as you could end up damaging yourself in a far worse way.

Be careful with no pain no gain, pain is the body’s way of saying STOP

Pain might be caused by an undiagnosed injury or muscle problem, or simply poor technique. The only thing for sure is that by ignoring and pushing on through, in the longer term you will eventually hit a barrier that forces you to stop altogether.

If you’re in pain, stop and consider what might be causing it. By addressing the issue you’ll not only prevent long term problems, but also improve the results you get from your exercise too.

But of course…this mentality only applies to actual pain, not the fatigue that comes from a tough work out. It’s up to you to be able to determine the difference.

Nice and knee-sy

Knees are a particularly vulnerable part of our body and if we don’t take proper care of them, serious problems can ensue.

While you’re exercising, you probably are – and certainly should be! – paying close attention to your technique and bodily posture to make sure you aren’t placing undue stress on your joints. However, the likelihood is that once you’re dressed and back home again, you probably don’t give your posture a second thought.

However, if you sit with your knees together and your feet apart, sooner or later you’re going to suffer from knee pain.

Although when you’re just sitting you won’t be load-bearing in the same way as when you’re doing squats, the chances are that you will hold this position for far longer. This will ultimately lead to knee valgus, and lots of pain.

The solution is to make sure you think about posture when you’re not exercising too and if you ever find yourself sitting with your knees knocked together and your feet apart, correct your position immediately.

Walking and texting

Whether you are texting, scrolling through Facebook or surfing the net, using your phone while walking is a very bad idea indeed. And not just because you might walk into a lamppost.

Most people are aware of the problems that working at a desk can result in, with all the posture-related issues causing back, shoulder and neck pain.

The same principles apply to walking and using your mobile, except to an even greater degree.

By definition, your hands will be centred in, pushing your elbows out, your head will be hanging forward and you’ll be walking with a bent neck and shoulders. It’s almost the perfect list of everything you shouldn’t do.

Walking and texting it’s never a good idea!

Your shoulders will be internally rotated, a position which ultimately results in pain and impingement, and your back will be put under duress as it is stretched for long periods of time. All of this could lead to shoulder pain and instability as well as painful headaches.

There’s no simple solution to this one other than don’t look at your phone when you’re walking!

Conclusion

Did you spot any bad habits that you’re guilty of? A good idea would be to seek out a Personal Trainer London and other cities have plenty to choose from.

There are many others which are just as harmful, such as standing with all your weight on one hip and your feet pushed out. The short answer is to make sure you have the same awareness about your bodily position when you’re not working out as when you are, and you’ll be able to naturally correct any body-wrecking sins before any harm is caused.
